The St. Tammany parish school system is one of the best in the nation and Money Magazine named it one of the top 100 school systems within the nation's major metropolitan areas. Seven schools have been named National Schools of Excellence by the US department of Education. A new middle school is currently being constructed, on Perriloux Road, less than a mile from Raiford Oaks, and the new Bishop Hannan High School is less than three miles from Raiford Oaks. Raiford Oaks LLC is the collective effort of Raiford family members and a developer with close ties to the family for many years.
